HISTORY

Our mission is to help develop the next generation of STEM superstars by giving them experiences and opportunities to explore STEM activities through competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge.

Forming in 2014, The Bazinga Project #7163 started as a group of five eight graders, mentored by Union eight grade math teacher, Ms. Davis, and Union’s FRC team, Ubotics #3507. Two years later, accompanied by a large class of incoming eight graders and experience gained from Super Regionals the previous year, we restructured our team. We defined more leadership roles and had incoming students chose to specialize in mechanical, software, or support. Additionally, around this time, we gained more engineer mentors which enhanced our design skills and allowed us to become more connected in our local STEM community.

Our next big change came in the fall of 2017, when we split to form Project Agnizab #13806 to accommodate our growing membership. Both teams worked directly alongside each other, while designing unique robots, and had equal numbers of experienced member mentoring our newest class. We kept this system until this fall, when we rearranged the teams to have The Bazinga Project be made up of our older students, while Project Agnizab is made up of the newer students, allowing them to form bonds and leadership skills while being mentored by Bazinga.
